Considering all that it offers, we can heartily recommend the Sonos Sub. And yeah, we realize that, at $699, it ain’t cheap. But no other sub that we’re aware of combines such a small form factor with this kind of potent, high-quality bass in one heck of an aesthetically pleasing package.

Powerful, potent bass for such a small sub, Excellent extension and impact, Force cancelling design eliminates unwanted vibrations, Solid, inert design, Easy to set up and use

Bass a little too thumpy at times, No standard line inputs, i.e. only compatible with Sonos gear
And since it only works with Sonos systems, it only makes sense if you’re a “Sonos person.” But provided you’re already comfortable with paying the company’s high prices, the Sub is a worthy addition to your wireless rig.

Sound is excellent, on par with the rest of Sonos’ speakers. Well-designed dual-driver subwoofer with dual class-D amps offer efficient and distortion-free boom. Sleek looks make the 16-inch-tall box disappear into your ultra-modern decor.

That’s a lot of Simoleons. The tall, square-shaped doughnut design can be too bulky for some rooms, even laid flat.
The Sonos Sub provides an instant upgrade to your Sonos Play speaker system, but it's quite pricey.

The Sonos Sub has a unique, eye-catching design and its wireless function works from anywhere in a room (though it does have to be plugged in). It really augments the sound of your Play speakers and the setup is a breeze.

Its finish doesn't match any other Sonos components and the Sub doesn't work as well with the Connect: Amp. It's expensive and won't work outside of a Sonos system.
Sonos is a brand that markets primarily on convenience, and their products do exactly what they advertise, which is to produce very reasonable sound quality with an extremely easy wireless setup.
When you decide to pick up a Sonos speaker, you decide to jump into an ever-expanding ecosystem of both hardware and software, with a brand that’s dead set on pushing an immersive experience out to the customer.
The latest addition to the Sonos family of products is the Sonos SUB, which is specifically designed to work with the company’s speakers—the Play:3 and Play:5. Either of these can be paired with another speaker of the same model to create a stereo pair for a wider soundfield.Sonos sent me two...
When it comes to multiroom music streaming, few systems are as elegant or as easy to use as Sonos. Now, the company has added a dedicated subwoofer to its range, designed to complement its Play:3 and Play:5 powered speakers, or partner with its digital amplifier, the Connect:AMP.
Late last month, Sonos , the maker of the Sonos Wireless HiFi System, announced it latest addition to its set of wireless speakers, the Sonos Sub . Unlike the Sonos Play:3 or Play:5, which were pretty complete wireless speakers, the Sono Sub is a 16 kg heavy dedicated subwoofer which is designed to...
Sonos, maker of a variety of excellent multi-room music systems , has added a high-end bottom end to its line up of powered speakers--the $699 Sonos Sub . More than just a subwoofer, the Sub incorporates into existing powered Sonos configurations to add a rich bottom end to your streaming music.
As Sonos has continued to expand and go "mass market" some could say it has forgotten the core music audience it started out to impress. Not so any more. This is Sonos returning to its roots and delivering a music device that is all about sound.

Good bass, good design, easy setup

Big, expensive, maybe too loud
Not very impressed when I initially hooked it up. I couldn't hear much difference in my pair of Play 5s (Gen 2). Then I made slight (30%) adjustments to the EQ and Sub settings. That added the extra bass that was missing.

Works great.Feel the bass.

I bought the sub to accompany the sonos playbar I ordered. The sub arrived before the playbar so I paired it with two play 5's I have in the kitchen until the playbar arrived. Once the playbar arrived I set it up in the bedroom with two play 3's and the playbar.

This piece looks great in my living room.It also pairs perfectly with the existing SONOS Soundbar that I have mounted above my TV. The fact that it's all wireless and all you have to do is plug in the power cord is nothing short of amazing.
Sonos is the superior whole home wireless sound system by adding the sound bar and sub offer to a TV you can create a great surround sound system that also will work as part of the whole home sound system. No wires-all the speakers plugged into an electrical outlet.
Ideal for several places in our house: Living Room (two stories with NOTHING to dampen reflected sound (very live); Screened-in porch, outdoor patio (infinite baffle)
This thing sounds awsome! Even a rock could set it up in a couple of minutes flat and I couldn't be more pleased with the sound. It's a beast to carry around at 36 pounds, but the center hole and design of ports (top and bottom) at least make a convenient handle to grab.

I was happy with my Sonos speakers before adding the sub. After a week with the sub, I unplugged it to see what the difference was and thought I was listening to a completely different system. It makes that big of a difference. Can't live without it now.
