As I was adjusting the device, I was impressed with its solid feel. Other ballheads seem flimsy. This one moves smoothly. It's nice.
This Quick Release was used on my DYI DSLR camera Rig, The great thing about this quick release, is its inexpensive Price tag, the ball swivel that makes it great to adjust to multiples positions to serve your need on that angle your looking for, the only improvement that would of made it a bit more...
Using this Slik ballhead on my Vixen Polarie star tracker. One knob lock is nice in the dark. Action is a bit stiff. Supports my Canon 6D with 24-70mm f2.8 II lens.
Didn't need anything bulky for my monopod. This has worked to be a good accessory for my needs. I would recommend this to a friend.
This was simple; I already had a Slik SBH-100DQ ...the 120's baby brother ...mounted on a Slik Sprint Mini tripod and these two ballheads share a common shoe. For as sturdy as the SBH-100 is, the 120 provides just a bit more grip.
I've had similar Slik heads before that were great - nice and smooth. With this model I had to return the first one since upon tightening the head for the first time the ball was being seriously scratched up. Figured it was a fluke and asked for an exchange.
I wanted a ball head with good grip and no interface plate. This works nicely.
Performs great and holds in place wellquick release plate bushing is kinda lame. They used some generic cork material which there isn't a replacement cork material once it wears out.
I bought this ballhead to go on a monopod. It is just the right size for an SLR with wide angle or short telephoto lens. Adding the ballhead really increases the versatility of a monopod and carrying the monopod is a lot easier than toting around a heavy tripod.
Slips a bit no matter how tight you go. Okay for compacts but wouldn't use for dslr. Wish it wasn't cork as it has started to wear already. Should be rubber. Reasonable quality considering the cost.
