Great dependable tripod. I do feel like older versions of this (I bought this to accompany my other one) are slightly better made or with better plastics. Heavier lens camera combos will fight the ball head a bit (Nikon d810 with new Sigma 14mm to be precise) but for a light weight easy to carry...
I've had a Manfrotto MK393-HM for a while now and for a on the go tripod I find it a little more than annoying. I recently picked-up a Slik Pro 340BH Tripod and I'm pretty pleased.
Purchased this tripod for use with a Leupold spotting scope for backpacking and hunting. The tripod was better quality than I thought it would be but is still a little heavy for what I am using it for. Decided to keep it because I am happy with the quality so will carry an extra pound+.
I have owned this tripod for three years. I am a semi-pro photographer but I do a lot of my work on extended trips in the backcountry. I needed something with professional features (can support an SLR, has a ballhead, levels) but also is light and compact enough that I can justify lugging it miles...
I must have mis-read the description, because it does not go as high as I thought it would. pretty sturdy, for a lower end tripod. good brand.
This is my first tripod and ball head. I'm not a professional photographer and couldn't justify several hundred dollars on a tripod, but didn't want to throw money away buying something so cheap that it doesn't do the job.
My son and I, who are avid amatuer birders, have both purchased this tripod. Myself first who wanted a discrete ball head motion for the camera. This ball head holds my Canon 100-400 Telephoto lens easily - never slips. My son has a Sigma 170-500 Telephoto lens and the same for him.
I purchased this to replace my cheapo Tripods I have purchased in the past. The ball mount is without a doubt one of the must haves in photography. This Tripod is strong and stable.
Nice sturdy tripod it holds my T2i with a battery grip an a 75-300mm lens with no problem, quality is good, camera stays in place when locked and nice warranty, great upgrade if you are replacing the generic $30 tripod of course there are much better tripods but they are also hundreds of $$$ more...
After lugging my big tripod eight miles on the Appalatian Trail I knew I needed something lighter and this little gem just fits the bill. I have nothing but praises for this little tripod. It proved to be very stable with my Nikon D80 with all my lenses. Price was well within my budget.
