I've had a Manfrotto MK393-HM for a while now and for a on the go tripod I find it a little more than annoying. I recently picked-up a Slik Pro 340BH Tripod and I'm pretty pleased.
Purchased this tripod for use with a Leupold spotting scope for backpacking and hunting. The tripod was better quality than I thought it would be but is still a little heavy for what I am using it for. Decided to keep it because I am happy with the quality so will carry an extra pound+.
I must have mis-read the description, because it does not go as high as I thought it would. pretty sturdy, for a lower end tripod. good brand.
This is my first tripod and ball head. I'm not a professional photographer and couldn't justify several hundred dollars on a tripod, but didn't want to throw money away buying something so cheap that it doesn't do the job.
I purchased this to replace my cheapo Tripods I have purchased in the past. The ball mount is without a doubt one of the must haves in photography. This Tripod is strong and stable.
I find the tripod sturdy, but still a little on the less than quality compared to previously owned models I've had that didn't cost me nearly as much. Seems they use more plastic parts than I would wish for for the leg clamps. Aside from that, the Tripod itself is good.
Product is as advertised. Very sturdy and well made. The ball head is rock solid and easy to use. I would recommend this tripod for anyone who travels or can't justify spending $300+ on a tripod.
Gave this a test drive this past weekend when I went hiking along a very rocky trail. I carried it instead of putting it in a backpack and loved the light weight. I set it up on several boulders and adjusted the height quite a bit.
I wanted a light weight tripod that was sturdy. This is it.The legs can be set at different lenghts and low to the ground.Have not found any problem holding a D300 with 18-200mm lens, even virtical.Easily fits on backpack for hiking.
This is really a pretty good tripod/head combo for the price. It's lightweight at about 3.25 lbs. and reasonably stiff, though simple physics will limit the stiffness somewhat. After all, when you combine that light weight with the fact that this a 4-section tripod, meaning you've got a pretty small...
Well-made, reasonably priced
Average stability, 57" max height
