Bought to use with new Tamron 150-600 lens which has an Arca-Swiss bracket. Worked very well with the ball flipped to the side as a pseudo-gimbal.
I've used this ball head for a couple weeks now and it is a nice upgrade from the Manfrotto head I have used for many years. Fit and finish is good, the tension control works well and solidly holds my 80D and 400mm f/5.6 without creep.
Item is of high quality and finish. I. Using it on a tripod to mount a Sigma 150-600 and it will hold the weight just fine. Locks down strong and can adjust drag for moving lens and panning around.
Very well engineered. Sturdy and holds like a rock. Handles my camera and current lenses with ease. I know it will handle any future lenses on my wish list. I've already got the specs on them.
Smooth operation. Strong lock and spins on the axis like a dream. Very glad I have it. Get one!
Camera movement can range from smooth and easy to locked tight with a twist of the main knob. Panning is smooth. All the parts are nicely finished. The only minor issue I have is that the pan lock knob is rather small in diameter and does not have a rubber grip surface like all the other knobs, but...
Great ball head and comes with an impressive box and carrying bag. Good instruction and a easy to install. Should be strong enough to handle about any dislike and lense. Would be nice if the quick release adapter plates were better priced.
Ball head is useless. No matter how much you crank down you can still move the camera. It moves easily and with little effort to move my D750 with a 80-200 on it. Going back.
I needed a mid sized ball head for my Gitzo tripod in the field. Weight was a consideration, since I would be packing it an average of a mile to two miles per use. It has not caused me an issues, locks up tightly, which is good for the macro to short distances I tend to photograph within.
Solid design - completely trust running around with the camera attached.
