I have only had this a short while, but I am so far very pleased with this ball head. My initial tests with it supporting my heaviest and longest lense (a 55-300) have not disappointed me.
I got this to put on a sirui tripod for when I go to get wildlife photos. Supports my K1 with the 150-450 lens with no real issues. I am still learning the pan and tilt knobs, but if your on a budget, and want a well made ball head, look into this one.
This thing is a tank. So far Ive used it with my 35mm prime and 300mm zoom. No movement whatsoever and it locks down without having to crank the knob too tight.
I use this with a 16 lb rifle mounted on top of it and it works very well and holds very strong. Very strong and great quality!
Bought this to use primarily as a head for my Pig Saddle rifle mount. Due to the constant front to rear unbalance, the head has to be very heavy duty. This head has not disappointed. Rated for 66lbs, it is supporting and balancing my rifles just fine. Oh, and it works great with my camera gear.
I shopped for a tripod head because my existing unit couldnt hold my camera steady when in a portrait orientation, i.e., the camera would slowly droop and require repositioning. I was concerned that if I applied more tightening to the base plate damage would occur to the camera (D850).
I love it. At first I thought it might be too big but now I think it is perfect. All my Arca-Swiss plates work when I remove the 2 little screws. This ball head has a slightly different safety latch that works.
Ive only been using the K-30x ball head for a couple of weeks, but so far I have to say it is as good, maybe better, than my older Markins Q10 head, which costs three times as much. In fact, I nearly bought another Markins for my new tripod but so glad I went with this Sirui.
And smooth operations. I like the bigger knob for my bear paws.
I have used this head on an Induro CT214 tripod for about 2 years, at least once a week, supporting about 5 or 6 lbs of gear, sometimes more. Previously I have used a variety of heads, including the Sirui K-20x.
