Ive never used an adapter that didnt have some play in the connection...UNTIL this one. Its amazing. It is so secure that it feels like part of the camera when you click it in. Way to go Sigma & Panasonic!
The adapter opens the world of L mount body to Canon lenses, including Sigma Art for EF. I have a few Sigma EF lenses that now works fine with my Panasonic S1. AF is not ultra fast but definitely fast enough to catch everyday activity. Focus is always tack sharp.
... but will need firmware updates to make AF even faster and eventually down the line, allow AF-C for adapted lenses. Other than that, it's just as sturdy and solid as the cameras. Very well built, and allows the use of Sigma and Canon EF lenses.
All EF lens features work in single shot mode. All EF lenses by Canon/Tamron/Sigma so far tried work even though Adapters led does not light up.Focus speed is satisfactory.Adapter is solid and durableand made very well.
I was optimist this would be a great adapter and support decent autofocus on the Panasonic S1. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. Single point autofocus is very slow to the point that manual focusing would be faster.
Bought this EF to L-mount adapter to go with a new Panasonic Lumix S5ii. As a Canon user being able to utilise my existing lens investment was important. Although Sigma only really claim it will autofocus properly with their own Sigma EF lenses it does a pretty good job with most Canon lenses,...
After 2 weeks of use I found a lot of negative points to this ring! The (-)-Strongly it works better with any other brand than with sigma lens ** .. no AF-C (even for the sigma lens) so the S1 / S1R are very poor in purpose perfectly usable for the moment** You need to buy the USB sigma dock,...
Its just okay. Fit to body is great. Lens fit to adapter has a little play. MC-11 had better fit. Focus wise, its slow contrast focus. Its probably 10 times slower than with the native Panny 50. It makes sense as the native lens has motors made for the AF system.
I have used this as a short term substitute until more budget friendly L-mount lenses are available. It works well enough. Single point autofocus works.
It works well with my 24-70 lens. I intend to borrow a 70-200 lens to test it and will report back
