The Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art doesn't have any user reviews yet!
The early reviews are not lying: this lens is a beast. It's lighter than a 70 - 200mm VRII zoom but heavier/ bulkier than the Sigma ART 20mm 1.4. Having taken approx. 200 images so far I can say that this lens delivers on the promise of high quality portraiture.
I have recieved this lens after waiting for more than 45 days of placing the order, much awaited, but was disappointed.Lens built is very strong & big, so it is heavy too.Primary issue :After doing few clicks it was showing "ERR" message on my camera console & got hung till I replaced the Lens to...
First things first: The lens is phenomenally built. Very sturdy... which makes it VERY heavy... about 1200g... and its VERY large... with no OS... it's going to cause some big forearms for anyone carrying it around for a while.
I only tested for a brief amount of time but, I'm pretty much sold on it. I wanted a auto focus lens to use for weddings because of the quick pace of a wedding. I have a Zeiss 85 which I love to use but it's a manual focus and I can't trust the speed of trying to lock focus in a timely manner.
I was able to sneak in and purchase this when it was available here at BH online 2 days ago. Later that same day, there were none available! The make, weight, and size are exactly what others have stated. It's not a small / portable lens. You give that all up for a very nice bokeh at 1.4.
