At its longest telephoto setting, the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro lens has a 0.5x macro facility, similar to the Tamron 70-300mm Di LD Macro lens. The Sigma comes complete with a lens hood and soft pouch.
Close-focusing 0.5x macro ability in the 200-300mm zoom range, Impressive build quality at the price, Sharp at all but the longest telephoto setting
No optical stabilisation, Lacks Sigma's HSM autofocus, and the basic motor is quite noisy, Poor image contrast in dull lighting
This is a great lens which may be picked up on a budget. Good telephoto and starter lens for those interested in macro photography. After using this lens for a week, I was very pleased with the sharpness and colors produced.
Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight
Poor in Low Light
Received before promised time. Product quality and packing quite good. For Unboxing video click here youtu.be/-8o1ugDTp-s
As per usual, screw a filter on the end to protect the lens.
Focuses great - sharp and relatively quick. Doesn't feel very heavy around the neck for a big lens, I can use it for hours before I need a break. Works great for shooting wildlife, portraits and landscapes. The price is great.
