Excellent optical performance stopped down to f/4 and below, Good build quality, Fast autofocus

Resolution at maximum aperture at focal lengths beyond 35mm, Barrel Distortion at 24mm
Depending on what you're looking for, the Sigma 24-70mm Æ’/2.8 is a good lens - especially if you're looking to save money. While it doesn't provide the same corner-to-corner sharpness wide open (and even stopped down, to some degree), it performs extremely well on sub-frame cameras, though the...

On our FX test camera, the lens did not really show impressive performance, however on DX the results are a lot more solid and convincing. Center and border sharpness is generally very good, but there's a visible drop in sharpness wide open and the extreme corners need smaller apertures to show good...
On paper, the Sigma 24-70/2.8 EX DG HSM is a very attractive lens. With its excellent build quality it feels like a pro tool and its huge diameter and front lens gives reason to hope for superior optical performance.
Based on its sheer specs the Sigma 24-70/2.8 EX DG HSM is a very attractive lens. It promises professional grade results at a more attractive price point. It terms of mechanical build quality it is certainly up there with the best in its class with the exception of weather sealing maybe.
Sigma is known for launching lenses with good quality/price ratios. In most cases they are only slightly worse than the brand-name competitors (if at all) but they are significantly cheaper. The new Sigma 24-70 mm f/2.8 fits this strategy requirements very well.

a very solid barrel but, in the same time, lighter and smaller than the barrels of its rivals,, fabulous frame centre picture quality,, very good frame edge picture quality on the APS-C/DX sensor,, good frame edge picture quality on the full frame detector on stopping down by 1 EV,, good chromatic...

too low picture quality in the full frame corner near the maximum relative aperture,, visible distortion at wide apertures, especially on the full frame,, significant vignetting toward the focal length ends,, quite visible coma in the full frame corners for the range of 24-45 mm.
I purchase it for shooting Nikon D750. Its main advantage - an artistic image. At aperture 2.8 a little blurred, but with preservation of thin figure - sets the mood in the frame. A 5.6 sharp across the field, competing with the leading companies in the class 24-70mm f / 2.8, keeping the interesting...

Good interesting pattern for portraits. Fast and accurate autofocus. Lovely color. Excellent sharpness.

Blurring the edges of the frame on a large diaphragm, as indeed in all 24-70 2.8
I decided to write this review for two main reasons: 1. Before deciding to spend an important amount of money in a 24-70mm standard zoom lens, I did myself a lot of searching and reading on internet. Unfortunately there are very few reviews about this exact product. 2.
