Sigma’s 15mm F2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye is a diagonal fisheye which means the distorted scene is shown full frame within the camera’s field of view. It allows photographers to shoot creative images by taking advantage of the acute perspectives that are invisible to the human eye.
I wanted to get a fisheye lens for my Nikon full frame cameras. I wasn't sure which one to get, either the NikonAF Fisheye-NIKKOR 16mm f/2.8D Lens or this one. The Nikon fisheye was just priced a bit to high for me, basically a thousand dollars. The sigma was priced just right.
I was looking for an FX fisheye to replace my DX Nikon 10.5 Fish and it came down to this lens or the Nikon 16 f/2.8. The Nikon was over $200 more expensive and most reviews said this lens was slightly sharper. Both had the same 180 degree view somehow.

Very sharp. Easy to use; small and light weight

Tendency to overuse
i saw this lens in a gray market store, its paint was peeling and it it's front element etched by water damage. i tested it then and still saw some sharpness but everything else was hazy.

sharp, good build(but of course sucky sigma paint and labelling), pretty good control of flaring and ghosting

the build in hood needs some revision, its great and metal protection but how do you mount a filter in the front even with the adapter for the cap?
I purchased this lens a few years ago and it's one of the better lenses I have. I have two Canon L-series lenses (the 24-70mm USM and the 70-200mm) and the sharpness, colours and clarity I get from this lens beats my two L-series hands down.

Great colour and sharpness.

This lens performs admirably! For the money, it's hard to find a worthy competitor.
Oh I do so love this lens. I don't use it often of course, but I've taken to always having it in my bag, just in case.
Great lens. The wide angle/fisheye effects got my creative juices flowing. If needed you can correct some distortion with common editing programs. The price is reasonable and you won't be disappointed!
This is a great little lens to add to your collection. We used it for a minishoot and it worked great, especially with the kids! The focus is fast and the motor is quiet. I have no complaints at all. Pictures are very sharp. I cannot wait to get this out at a wedding reception.
