I love these mics. This is the third one I've owned (over many years). It's a great sounding mic that can handle the life on the road if you take care of it. Never had any feedback issues using these.
I bought this clip on mic to use with my Tenor and Alto sax. I was originally using a beta 87 on a stand, so at first I was worried about considerable quality loss: not so! I even use it with the cheaper shure pgx wireless system and it sounds great!
After years of using an old pre-Beta Shure SM98 for my tenor sax (I still have it and it still works great), I was on a gig where the sound tech had his own wireless and one of these available, so I used it and it worked beautifully.
I'm a sax player and this mic works great. The reproduction of clear sound quality is exactly what I need from a mic. The flexibility and mounting configurations make it a true joy to use. I would recommend it to my friends and buy another if needed.
I picked decided to buy this because doing weddings and having sax players playing games with playing on the mic, then not at all... then burying the sax into the mic... Life savor... for a budget. And it sounds amazing.
Sounds fantastic on trumpet and trombone...haven't used it on other instruments yet. purchased with a shure wireless receiver, the horn players love it.
The sound I'm getting for my saxophone through the Shure WB98H/C is terrific. A true pure amplification of the sound of my Mark VI Tenor. I waited a long time before moving to wireless but with the WB98H/C I've got the sound I want through the PA and no longer am I tied to one position in front of a...
Used it in church for on a flugelhorn and got such a beautiful and warm tone! Very true audio representation and makes for a solid, reliable mic for any instrument we have play at church!

Durability, Ease of Use, Sound Quality
I tried using this mic on a clarinet and it picks up great under the bell. However, unlike a sax, a clarinet has many rich sounds emanating from the tone holes which are not captured....If you use two mics that would be ok....One standard mic over the tone holes.....
