I've received the product couple days ago and the first impression was the best it could be. First class build quality, very friendly operation menu. I've already used it to record some interviews in noisy environments and the sound was crystal clear. Everything has been doing well.
While I prefer how the Rode Video Mic Pro sounds, its drawback is relying on often sub-par camera mic pre-amps. Not so, with the LensHopper VP83F. Plus, its not tied to your camera, so you can close mic your subject with a boom.
This is an awesome mic. It's rugged with all metal housing and is also lightweight. The plus side is having the micro SD card built in. That means you can both record in the mic and directly to your camera all at the same time.
I'm new to adding higher quality audio to my videos and it's remarkable the difference the LensHopper makes, especially outside with this Windjammer on it! Amazing!
I wish I would have purchased another mic like the rode. This one has very poor sound rejection from back and sides, and the audio quality is only decent. I do not advise this mic.
May well be that I don't have the right settings, but I haven't had much luck with this mic yet.
This mic definitely improves sound pickup in the field. Im using it with the optional Fur Windjammer windscreen and it makes a tremendous difference in wind noise reduction.My only observation is that using24-bit/48kHz to record voice generates a much larger file than needed, but I guess Shure...
My mic was picking up a fair amount of wind noise, so I ordered this, being fairly skeptical. THIS THING WORKS WONDERS! Great to cut down wind noise. I do believe audio towards the back of the mic gets a bit quieter because of the screen, but to me that's not a big deal.
Cuts down on wind noise immensely! The only downside I feel the audio towards the back of the mic gets a bit more quiet. But I suppose that is the price you pay to cut down on wind #sweepstakes
Works great and removes wind noise. Love the clasp on the back to keep it on and tight.
