The Shure SRH1540 is among the more accurate headphone pairs we've tested, delivering deep lows and crisp highs clearly with very little boosting.

Excellent audio performance. Impressively lightweight despite large size. Exceptionally comfortable. Ships with two detachable cables, a replacement pair of earcups, and the sturdiest hard-shell headphone case we've ever seen.

No inline remote control or mic on either cable. Not for booming bass lovers.
Shure’s SRH1540 define the point of diminishing returns in headphone fidelity, and they are unparalleled in terms of comfort. That combination is deadly, especially at the $500 price point.

Supremely comfortable, Tight, musical bass with excellent extension, Open, natural midrange, Sparkling, resonant treble, Tremendous detail

-
Expensive, Large
Shure's rich-sounding, full-size headphone flatters a wide range of music genres.

Real carbon-fiber ear cups, Really hushes external noise, Really, really comfortable

Lacks mike and phone controls, Doesn't fold for compact storage
The Shure SRH1540 has been around for a while now, but as far as high-end closed-back headphones go, it’s nowhere near obsolete. Needing to write another review, I figured I might as well tackle a staple and give you the lowdown.
A great way to improve your audio experience that's able to be driven by nearly anything. Fantastic audio, but for a price.

In this review we take a look at the stunning Shure SRH1540s… Manufacturer Shure Price £399 Contact via website Web www.shure.co.uk We’re playing catch-up…
I do love a high-end American brand; there’s something reassuring and macho about technology from the guys who invented it in its modern form. And there’s no brand more Marlboro Man than Shure of Chicago, long-esteemed maker of microphones and headphones.
A terrific marriage of sound and comfort
Shure has produced truly premium headphones that make monitoring an easy pleasure.

Exceptional clarity and detail. Light and comfortable to wear. Impressive low end extension.

Price. Low mids sometimes dominated by the bass.
These at the time were the second product of Shure’s that I had heard and they have really secured my love for Shure’s products. They are a good set of headphones that sound decent I found my-self needing a set of over-ear headphones for every day use and decided to get these based on a few video...

When I'm editing, I'm wearing headphones for hours and found many of the other headphones I wore would become uncomfortable - not so with these headphones. Honestly, I don't have a single complaint from an audio, styling, or comfort standpoint. They even came with an extra set of pads.
Comfortable for the long sessions with a good depth to the base and sharp mid to highs. No quality lost when you crank up the volume you will be turning down before that.Well Happy.
These are the best headphones I have ever listened to.
I mainly listen to classical music , and have felt that I am only just hearing my CDs.
Well made light comfortable very durable high quality they dont colour the sound too much ie very good for masternig and writing but not tonally coloured for HiFi sound but they are not designed for that.
These headphones are a bit of a luxury but believe me are worth every penny. The sound is so natural and detailed and I am hearing parts of tracks that I've never heard before. They are really comfortable and not tiring to wear even after a couple of hours' use.
Having used the Shures for a few weeks now with my Astell and Kern ak70 mkII I am so pleased I took the plunge. Listening to music through these is a real audiophiles delight, comfort is no longer an issue, high quality in both build, comfort and music ability, very, very good value.
I bought this a week ago and have been thrilled with the quality. The over ear phones sit very comfortably on the head and coudl stay on for hours. And the quality of sound is just right, with excellent bass, mid and treble.
Fantastic headphones perfectly balanced sound comfortable to wear really bring music to life
