These are good in a room with background noise and a strong speaker. The small mic will not pick up as much background noise as a more sensitive one. Though if the speaker is soft spoken and HVAC noise is in the background the sound may be muffled.
Audio sounds very clear. Wish supplied cable was a bit longer but other than that a really good product and great value.
I use them as normal lav mics for video productions and they sound great. its very hard to hide.
We use these mice in our HS TV facility. It takes a beating, and keeps working. Sounds great, and an excellent value.
I use these for recording depositions. For the price you can't beat the price.
Robust, quality dynamic mic. What's not to like?
Used this brand new lav mic for a video shoot - clipped it on the collar of the speaker and could not hear him. Had to jack the camera audio levels way up to maximum to even hear him speaking. By increasing the levels way up static sound appeared (not good audio for a video).
Do yourself a favor and definitely DO NOT buy this microphone. Because it is a dynamic with such a small magnet (even though it is gigantic for a lavaliere) it has an abysmal signal-to-noise ratio. You will hate yourself when you get into editing due to the terrible cable noise and low output.
At this point, I am more than pleased.
I am using this lav mic to amplify a 5 string banjo. I had been using a generic electret battery driven lav mic (think radio shack) for that purpose, replacing the mini-plug with a female 1/4 inch, then using a standard guitar cord, plugging into a Baggs Para DI, then into the board of the sound...
