So far so good. Was not sure what to expect but the advantage we see is for public speaking. It comes with a cardiode cartridge which it says is interchangeable with others. But dont expect the optional ones to come with it.
We use this as a pulpit microphone for our church, we have tried several mics but have not been able to find one that can pick up all our speakers. After one serves this microphone seems to do the trick
Bought it for my church and it sounds clear and full, heavy base and picks up from a distance. The mute switch is great feature if you program it correctly.God bless.
I have used this same product for last eight years. I leave the mic attached to pulpit. Use with a limiter compressor so volume does not change as the speaker get closer or farther from mic while talking. This shure model is a rugged mic and should last for years and years.
I replaced it with the exactly same previous mic due to its failure. And it works as it supposed to do. Hope it last longer!
The words are short, it's a Shure microphone ...
I've used several different makes and models of gooseneck microphones and Shure is the best.
We were looking for a replacement mic for the podium in our church. We wanted a mic that was sensitive enough to pick up a variety of speaking styles. Some ministers constantly turn away from the mike, some are soft spoken and some have powerful voices. This mic is what we needed.
These Shure MX418C double-gooseneck mics are ideal for our application. After building a small bracket for the supplied hardware and securing the bracket on a mic stand, we are using the mics at a table for two participants.
Awesome mic with great sound quality. I modified dip switches to allow mic to toggle on/off for user control. Very good experience with first use.
