The MX418DS is constructed well and has good audio quality. The base works well on both flat and angled surfaces. I've used the microphone in many settings and it proves to have a lot gain before feedback.

These are great mics. I use them at board meetings and when people lean back after long meetings, I can still hear them. Also they are resistant to feedback. I bought 15 and feel they are great. I also enjoy the functionality of the switch and how it is a cough switch by default.

Outstanding performance with very good clean vocal reproduction. Excellent for an Awards show podium. Modular in design. Wish they had a case built for four of these. We had to buy an arrow case to hold the mics and modular parts.

We have owned 2 dozen of these mics for the last 10 years and have just bought another 7. The pickup is great, reliablility is awesome, and the fact that you can remove the bottom cover and switch the settings on it is even better.

We use this for guest panelists at our school. Shure makes a great mic that is durable, offers interchangeable heads and delivers great sound. You can make a bad choice with this mic.

Our church recently purchased this mic and it is great. We use it as our pulpit mic and it is extremely clear. Also, it has a great range to pick up sound. If you stand to the side of the mic it will pick your voice. Great deal for the money. It was more than I expected.

We're using this as a podium mic with a racked PA system. Nice quality mic w/ great sound. At 18 this one is pretty long, but there's a 12 model, too.

I purchased this mike as a Christmas gift for our church. The sound is phenomenal as Shure usually is. Would recommend for any lectern. No cons.
