This is the second Beta 98H/C that I've owned. I'm replacing one that the cable wore out on over about a decade of use. I play professionally and the mic always served me well. It sounds good and doesn't color my sound too much.

Excellent when using on horn for outdoor brass performances and when feeding into a live soundboard with electric instruments and DJs for hip hop and rock shows. Great sound quality and no issues with picking up unwanted instrument noise unless I (or the sound guy) does something dumb.

I bought this mic primarily because when I'm recording trumpet with a harmon mute in the bell it is sometimes difficult to keep the position of the mute at the optimum spot on a standard mic for extended periods of time.
