Terrific Suction and Light Weight BUT Poor Design
Bought this Stratos as I have a three year old LZ601 Stick Vacuum that I love so I would keep a second vacuum for upstairs use. Familiar ease to assemble and use with great cleaning. All of this was expected. UNFORTUNATELY the design of this unit does not allow the vacuum to stand by itself in the upright position requiring you to lay it on the floor (or just let go) or lean it against something while you step away. Just a nuisance. The performance seems great but it is extremely annoying since it can’t stand on its own. How could your engineers design a stand up vacuum that can’t stand up? For this reason I can NOT recommend this unit.

Not right for me…
I am a die hard Shark fan… love my steam mop, my vac and mop and my previous vacuum, the Shark ion. Always impressed with the technology and ease of use(I am 71 years old).I have 6 adult children and have always encouraged them to purchase Shark products.Very disappointed in this model and it was a big splurge for me on my limited income. It feels cheap, it is not easy to use…I expend more energy picking up the onboard tools that constantly fall to the floor and trying to find a place to park it where it won’t topple over than I do actually vacuuming. Can’t afford a different one….wish I had saved my money.

Absolute junk. Don't buy! Terrible design. We bought the Stratos for pet hair approximately 5 months ago. The unit worked great up until this weekend. I noticed a faint smell of something burning. After cleaning all the filters and the unit itself the smell continued. The unit became hot and made a terrible grinding sound. After my husband investigated further it appears animal hair got through the filters into the motor which caused it to jam up and ultimately become trash. I've been a fan of shark for over 10 years and this is by far the WORST unit I've ever had. Shark you need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

I decided to just put pros and cons for my review. I've had several Shark vacuums in the past.
Pros: Very light and easy to transport. Easy to clean the dirt canister and the filters.
Very good on laminate, hardwood and tile floors.
Easy to get under appliances and furniture
Not real loud which is good
Fairly long cord
Cons: It doesn't stand up by itself.
Just doesn't have the oomph and power for the carpeted floors for pet hair. The hair wants to build up on the bottom of the power head.
I can only do about 2 rooms before I have to empty the cannister.

Good vacuum but flawed
I bought this on 11/22/22 and not even a year later the trouble I have the most is overheating. After 15-20 minutes of hardwood and normal pile carpet cleaning the vacuum LED headlights start blinking and the rollers stop. You are forced, per the manual, to unplug, empty the canister and wait for 45 minutes for it to cool down. What kind of design is that where you knowingly put in thermal protection that only allows for short usage. The handheld unit is being replaced but yet I have to pay S&H. I otherwise enjoy the vacuum but this has left a bad impression of Shark over it's main competitor, rhymes with Bison.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loves this vac it's super lightweight and easy to carry up and down the stairs. I have long hair and so does our shih tzu so as you can imagine we get quite a bit of hair all over lol this vac picks it up like nothing. It cleans the carpets fabulously thick and thin!!! I also enjoy using this in my bare floors before mopping!! Also like with typical vacs I don't smell any odors as of yet so too me that's a HUGE plus. It drives me batty when vacuums get an odor and it seems like you smell it each time you go to back no matter how much you clean it. Love this lil guy!! Lil vac big results!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot tell you how incredibly happy I am with this Shark stick vac. It is so amazing! Putting it together was literally a snap and I love the long cord. This vacuum helps to pull itself when I vacuum so I don't tire out like I did with my old vac. The debris canister is small but very convenient. It's so easy to take out and click back in. This is a great product. Also, it can be used on floors as well and it has a hook that you can use to hang it up with when you are finished. It also comes with accessories. Again, I am just so happy with this vac!

Serves its purpose
I bought this to keep on my 2nd floor, as I hate to lug up the hose for our central vacuum. It has good suction, and worked well on my hardwood floors. I'm only giving 3 stars as the maneuverability of the head is terrible. Trying to get it to turn from one angle to another requires far more effort than it should. The handle is also kind of awkward, and feels like it will leave you with a blister. This is in part due to the weight of the handle, and the design itself. I do like that the canister is easy to remove to empty it, and the suction seems to be pretty strong. For what this costs, I don't hate it, but I def don't love it.
