I am using this plug-on for a variety of uses. It's used when I DJ events so I am no longer tied to the mixing board, I allow a friend who sings to use it to walk into the crowd. I also use it for interviews and reporting for freelance journalism. To be able to use it with any dynamic mic is huge.
I just changed jobs and needed a wireless for a self-powered shotgun. I had these at my last job, and couldn't have possibly considered another model. Works great, as I knew it would! Highly recommend as the price vs performance is just right.
I think Senheisser is the only game in town. Ended up using it on a shoot right after receiving it, and it saved the day.
I've added many units as well as regular handeld mics and nothing else. I find them reliable and the sound good
I agree that the 100 G3 series are good systems for a moderate price. We have ten of them, several in use for about five years. The overall system I would give 4 or 4.5 stars. EV 635A is the mic used on the SKP for news reporting. Sound & range are very good.
It works wonderfully and has successfully fulfilled my needs during video taping. I do not hear outside disturbances and I would recommend this product to anyone.
We had one of our mics take a swim on a shoot and we needed to order another to replace it. These things are great. i actually let the old one dry out a few days and it works perfect.
I use this product along with the Sennheiser EK 100 G3 Wireless Camera-Mount Receiver - A (516-558 MHz) for sound recording and sound mixing for independent filmmaking. Great Versatility. Great range Not as rugged as the previous version the G2
I shoot mainly weddings and it's a must have when trying to monitor your audio for the ceremony, speeches and toasts. D.A.R.'s are good to use a backup but it's really difficult to monitor them once the ceremony or reception get going. It's nice to monitor sound while at your camera.
The SKP 100 works great with a wireless set we already had in use here. It was simple as can be too to get up and running. Literally pulled it out of the box, plugged it into the microphone, and made sure the channel was the same as my receiver and it worked right away.
