Overall, price to performance, the MKE 600 is a good choice for those who need powering options and durability on-the-go, and as a solid entry-level shotgun microphone for sound recordists.

This is a great sounding microphone. I have been using this mic now for about 6 months now and I have to say, "it really does a great Job". Before my purchase I listened to several shotgun mics and came to the conclusion that this was the best sounding to my eras, regardless the price.
I wanted to up my audio game, but I knew I couldn't afford the industry standard Sennheiser MKH-416.This was the next best thing at 1/3 of the price. Sounds super clear, works well, has a durable metal construction, and satisfies my needs.Bottom line: YES, I would recommend this product.
I am pleasantly surprised by the MKE 600's ability to control sound quality in an amateur sound proofed roof. I needed a Shot gun Mic to record for film, but mostly in poorly sound proofed settings. Suffice it to say it has held it's own. Well done Sennheiser
Got it on sale. Even then it was a bit of a stretch purchase. Compared to the AT and Rode mics, I felt this one was more consistent across sources and environments. HPF doesnt cut into my baritone voice yet removes subbiness. Lightweight. Comes with a shockmount.
The DSLR cameras do not capture great audio, but adding the Sennheiser MKE 600 short shotgun mic allows me to capture audio at weddings that is more than adequate. I was surprised how good the quality was.
I consider this the truly magic mic. Just used it on a commerial - emergency rush job - no wind screen and all the pros involved on the job wanted to know how i got the voice over sounding so well.Highly recommend it for ALL occasions !
Solid build, easy to set up, gorgeous audio, reliable, decent battery life...Im currently using it on set for my short film, very impressed with the quality coming out of it. If you take the time to learn how to boom right, this thing is well worth the money.
One of the top shotgun mics out there.
