This system has 2 enormous flaws, 1 of which Sennheiser either is not aware of or is pretending to not be aware of it.1. The first part isn't necessarily a flaw, but a huge hinderance. You cannot use this system with an older Sennheiser wireless system such as a G3 series or something like that.
I was upgrading from the G3 series and had done a ton of research online. The Rodelink was cheap and didn't last, the Sony sounded good, but for the Sennheiser AVX sounded the best with some cool features. Then I was trying to decide on which mic to use.
Got the AVX for times when I don't have a sound person with me. Really great, compact system that sounds excellent. Compared to when I use a soundperson with industry norm Lectrosonics, the AVX with the better mic (MKE2) matches perfectly.
This digital wireless mic is worth the price. Plain and simple, it's worth it. Build quality is robust yet refined. Pairing is as simple as turning the units on (they literally pair themselves). Battery recharges quickly and lasts for 16-17 hours and it has a very accurate digital battery readout.
Awesome! Simple to use. Great sound!
Love the results so far. Build quality is nice.
The little receiver is so compact it fits on my camera without interfering with the camera functions. Also there's no need for a shoe mount! Granted it's expensive but for an investment piece it's a great choice. Sound quality is exceptional and the lav mic is tiny.
I love the build quality, small size, and ease of use. I used to have the rode filmmaker kit and didn't like how it felt kinda cheap and was bigger than I preferred. Although more expensive, I feel much happier with this mic setup.
I havent had any problems with this device yet. I have been using it for 7 months mostly interviews and mobile segments audio quality has been great so far.
My experience with other Sennheiser microphones was already good, but the new AVX with MKE2 lavalier is fantastic. The elimination of ambient noise added to the leveling of the volume peaks, leaves the system unbeatable.
