When I get bored shooting, I grab this guy and have fun! Set it on f8 put the distance scale at 3 ft and shoot anything up close!
Better than I expected. Manual focus is not a problem since the depth of field is almost 0 to infinity. Set it once and forget it for the most part. Very good build quality, smooth mounting and removing, smooth focus ring and aperture ring.
A Fishyeye lens is a novelty item. Having acquired most lenses that I have wanted, I gave consideration to the novelty use of a Fisheye . After reading the reviews of the low price lenses available, I decided to take a chance on the Samyang 8mmf/3.5.
I am using this lens for high quality panoramic photography for real estate virtual tours.I cannot be happier with this image this inexpensive lens brings to the table. There is minimal vignnetting that is easily corrected in Lightroom. I have had nothing but a great experience with this lens.
Be aware that this lens is the most basic: it has no auto focus, and doesn't provide info to teh camera, so you have to add focal, lens data, etc...Good pictures though!
Takes great, sharp photos on a 1.6x crop sensor. If you use it on a 1.3x crop sensor you'll end up with a circular (or partially circular) image. Very happy with the lens for the price.
Very special landscape and architecture images. The lens I received works best with apertures in 8 - 11 range.Sharpness appears to be a little less than kit 18-55 mm at 18 mm.
I use this lens with my Canon EOS Rebel T6i.It's a very nice lens, not bulky, great size, strong construction and easy to attach.Comes with a lens hood, lens cover, lens bag and manual.
I purchased this lens prior to my trip to the Grand Canyon because I wanted to be able to capture as much of the canyon as possible in one shot and this lens definitely did the job. I'm not a camera pro, but I was able to learn how to use this lens in manual mode pretty quickly.
I have to say I have enjoyed the few hours I've had this lens have been fun! Taking shots of everything in the yard! I have it on a Nikon D5500 on P, adjust focus to a foot on the lens and shoot away! The focus doesn't line up correctly, but who cares, it's easy to guess for!
