I was watching this fisheye for a long time and finally took the plunge. It's definitely a niche lens, but you probably already know that if you want one. It's very well made, nice heavy feel, but compact and fits well on e mount cameras.
I brought the version II with NX mount. I was not sure between this lens or the Samsung NX 10mm fisheye lens. The NX lens has all the "extras" that would make it great (electronic extras like auto focus and exposition, and the feature button etc).
Had the rokinon 8mm f3.5 lens and it wasnt nearly as sharp as i had hoped, this 8mm f2.8 lens is what id hoped for. Found that at f5.6 to f8 focused between a meter and infinity its sharp close and far.
Manual lens but really easy to use. Great pics, small, light and solid build. 180degree perspective. I use it with Sony a6000.
I've contemplating buying one for some time and I finally took the plunge and it's an amazing lens. I bought it to fit a Sony A6000 as I needed to capture to some interesting sights around London for a project I'm working on.
FoV is amazing! Unbelievable sharp when correctly focused. However the focus marking are in-accurate. I recommend the first thing you do is take test photos at known distances and remark the points on the focus ring.
Excellent lens. Very sharp
What a great lens. Excellent quality construction. Beautiful images.
Excellent little lens works very well
This lens is very sharp and I have been using the lens on the Canon M5 at ƒ5.6 manually pre-focused. The weather has been pretty bad for most of the time I've had it, so I'm not as practiced with it as I hoped I would be at this point.
