No promises, but I would like to write a full Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Lens review in the future. In the meantime, I think that you will find the standardized Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Lens results currently available to be helpful.
The Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical may be a very affordable lens but it's a very decent performer nevertheless. It is capable of delivering a very good center performance at f/1.4 although it's fairly soft in the image corners at this setting. The contrast level could be a tad better here as well.
Just got my second hand copy. The hood ring was loose other than that its awesome rich and creamy. I also have 85mm 1.8G but when compared to this you wont see much of a difference but still it will be creamier than 1.8. I just love it. I think im just going to go ahead and sell my 1.8 G version.
The item listing stated " Lens cap missing" , this was the case. However the lens hood was also missing.. This has cost £20.00 to replace. Otherwise an excellent item.
Great bokeh. Lovely lens. MANUAL FOCUS.
This lens has NO AUTO FOCUS and produces a lot of noise in dark areas of image. However its a bliss when we use it for tabletop indoor and controlled lighting environment. Overall, its not suitable for street and hobby photography rather it is for pro/mid level product or architectural photography.
It's a beautiful lens and able to capture brilliant images in any light. Remember it's a manual only lens so it will teach you a lot about the importance of focus
A great quality, solid build, manual focus lens, the perfect budget choice for portrait photography, love it! Only downside is no AF but that doesn't matter if you aren't lazy
Excellent lens does exactly what it says on the tin.
Good lens but minimum focus distance is over 3 feet! Not good for my application (product photography).
A great lens made to a very high standard,it feels and looks perfect, smooth accurate movement, of the highest engineering standards, The lens gives superb results extreme sharpness, great for portraits, the aperture lets in so much light flash is often not reqd.
great to grow on ur photography
