No promises, but I would like to write a full Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Lens review in the future. In the meantime, I think that you will find the standardized Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Lens results currently available to be helpful.
The Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical may be a very affordable lens but it's a very decent performer nevertheless. It is capable of delivering a very good center performance at f/1.4 although it's fairly soft in the image corners at this setting. The contrast level could be a tad better here as well.
Amazingblens. Great bokeh. The di very was fast. I will order from here again
this is my 3rd favourite samyang lens after 35mm f1.4 and 24mm f1.4. obviously samyang is not for those who are not comfortable with manual focusing but for my it works great. most of the time i don't use them wide open for sharpness and larger depth of field makes it easy to do focus manually.
Contrasty, Durable, Great Picture Quality, Sharp
Comes With A Lousy Pouch
**NOTE: This review is based on my Pentax mount version. I'm not sure if it works in Aperture Priority mode on all makes, or if the focus confirmation works for all makes.** This is one of those rare lenses that proves to be relatively cheap, but also very very good.
This samyang lens is almost perfect. How I wish there's an AF, but you can't ask for more because of the quality of image it produces. In my own opinion this is a lens you would want to use only for video, for photo I think it's okay as long as you don't mind the time or you're on a studio with a...
Nice sharp photos. Fast and good glass. Took some getting used to shooting in manual but not a big problem. Easy to use. Very nice. lens.
Big, beautiful lens. Advantages of the Pentax version include the "A" position, which means aperture changes can be automated. Even in full manual mode, which hairy-chested photographers like me use, I can simply spin the rear wheel on my K5 and change the aperture as needed.
Sharp Sharp Sharp One down fall, its hard to focus through the view finder. Best practice is to stop the lens down to f2 or so, and if you still can't get focus, use the rear LCD and focus that way. Its a champ of a lens for a very affordable price.
Sharp, good stiff focus, aperture is cam-controlled. I love this lens and chose it over the Pentax 77mm limited.I like that extra length. You really should not get such a great lens at this price.
Samyang is a little known lens manufacturer from Korea. Naturally, not many know about them and most folks who chase Canon and Nikon hardly pay attention to 3rd party lens manufacturers. But this lens is the best value for money you can get, if you want absolute performance.
Can we use it for Nikon D3200 ????
