I got this lens specifically for video on my A7, but it works great for photography too. Image quality is off the charts for the price, and there is little to no breathing at all. Of course, it is a prime.
Gorgeous. If you don't know, Samyang is the same brand as Bower and Rokinon. It's the same corresponding products with different brand names for different markets. I found this at a better price point so the branding didn't matter to me.
35mm is a beautiful focal length, one of my favorites. The images from this lens are tack sharp and just look great. Matches up perfectly with all my other Samyang Cine lenses. Makes color grading so much easier because the color rendition is so similar between lenses.
Bought this lens to use with a Metabones adaptor on my JVC GY-LS 300. The lens feels substantial and well made, and the iris and focus rings are very smooth. The lens is sharp even at max aperture, but stopping down a bit improves the image overall. Great lens.
I have owned 2 of these lenses, the first one was excellent, really sharp and well made. The second one I had (the one that I am reviewing now) is nowhere near as sharp. It went straight into my box of primes and came with me on a few jobs, but was never used until a few days ago.
This is by far the best Cinema lens I have worked with for the price tag. Use it on a Canon C100.
Fantastic lens, cheap and sharp.
What an incredible piece of glass. I had been debating for a while whether to invest in a new camera or lens and due to good glass lasting longer than camera technology I purchased the 35mm t1.5.
