I absolutely love this lens - the picture is beautiful, comparable to lenses that cost twice as much. Great color, depth of field, and sharpness. The de-clicked aperture ring allows for incredibly smooth and quiet changes.
I bought this after selling my Sigma 18-35MM, and I prefer this much more than the zoom lens. The build quality is great, and both focus and iris rings feel really nice when turning. For sure gonna pick up the 50MM & 85MM soon! Thanks Samyang!
Incredible looking lens for video work.We use this with BM Studio Camera and it works fantastic even in low light.Great for interviews and nice tight shots.
I use this lens for filmmaking at it does a fine job. The bokeh is tight with smooth movements of both the de-clicked aperture and focus rings. It has become one of the lenses I use the most.
I had the 24mm non Cine lens before this and I think the 35mm is a little more practical for the type of projects I usually work on, documentary films mostly. Where I want to be able to film up close but move back to get a full view.
I love this lens. The de-clicked aperture gives me incredible creative freedom, and allows me to change things quickly and smoothly in video. This lens is a game changer for sure.
I love everything about the lens. It's about the same size as the Canon EF 24-70mm 2.8, but weighs a little less. The focus is very smooth (smoother than trying to focus with my canon EF 50mm 1.4), picture is sharp and bokeh at 1.5 is excellent.
Super sharp! - I'm a portrait photographer practicing for 2 years
I purchased the Samyang 35mm Y.1.5 to function as one of my main lenses for video. The lens is pained with a Nikon D610 and a Tilta rig, follow focus and matt box. The lens is well built and feels extremely solid, particularly for the money.
The bokeh that this Rokinon produces is outstanding. This is a wonderful lens with surprisingly good quality, considering the price. Feels like a fine Swiss watch. Only negative is that it is slightly on the heavy side.
