Samyang 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Lens for Sony E-Mount (APS-C) (Silver)

This 12mm wide angle lens is available to fit a wide range of mirrorless system cameras, including Canon M, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Micro Four Thirds, and Sony E mount compatible cameras.

Overall, this is an excellent optic that produces images with excellent sharpness, low distortion and low CA. Also, what makes this lens especially interesting is the low price of around £330, which is £170 less than the closest equivalent.

  high quality casing and a proper work of all parts of the lens,, excellent image quality in the frame centre,, acceptable image quality on the edge of the frame,, proper correction of spherical aberration,, moderate distortion,, negligible astigmatism,, good quality and performance to price ratio.

  weak performance against bright light,, noticeable vignetting,, a bit too high chromatic aberration,, a significant difference between the performance in the frame centre and on the edge of the frame.

My only gripe is they always want us to review quickly before we've had a lot of time with a product.Shooting for over fifty years, I've used a lot of glass both good and bad. I'm not a pixel peeper, but this is good glass. I love having an actual aperture ring on a lens again.

Really good wide angle lens. Sharp, good color, light and smooth focus ring.

I've had the lens for about 6 months, now, and really like it.As a Sony a6000 owner, I have had great luck with this lens taking pictures at night. 20 seconds more or less wide open at ISO 1600-3200 is a great place to start for stars and thunderstorms.

Excellent lens, sharp as described

campared this against my only other lens fuji 18-55 kit lens from f2-11. the only sharp images that I got were from f4-5.6. but not sharper than my kit lens at corners. also at f11, significant purple fringing.

Lens is great! No need for auto focus on this focal length. Very sharp, a little vignette but I like that look. Contrast not quite as good as the Zeiss but at a stop faster and a third of the price this is a steal!
