With better performance, efficiency, and lower MSRPs, Samsung’s 970 EVO Plus is a big "plus" in almost every way over its predecessor. It rivals its bigger brother, the 970 PRO, and comes with a complete software suite, making the Samsung 970 EVO Plus a great buy.

The Samsung 970 EVO Plus is indeed a refreshing upgrade to the 970 EVO. And the fact most of its capacities enjoy more affordable pricing doesn’t hurt, either. That’s not to mention you can expect its price to go even lower the longer it’s available on the market.

As an SSD reviewer who has reviewed SSDs for 10 plus years now, I will be the first to admit that, at some point, things simply became an assembly line. Admittedly, there were periods when the industry was shaken up as we went from SATA to PCIe and then to NVMe, but for the most part, an SSD was an...

That 'Plus' bit in the title is what gives the new Sammy drive the edge over its forebears, touching the performance limits of the x4 PCIe 3.0 interface. But it's the decline in memory pricing which means this super-speedy 1TB drive is an incredible price even at launch.

Bigger, better, stronger, faster ... you've heard that before. Well, it covers all the registers that the EVO Plus 2TB has to offer. Samsung maxes out NVMe 1.3 protocol and 3x PCIe bandwidth as well as offering all that on a 2 Terabyte volume size.

The Samsung 970 Evo has been my under £200 SSD recommendation for quite some time now. By far the fastest and best value for money NVMe SSD you can buy right now, it’s comfortably seen off competition from the new WD Black SN750 , the old WD Black and Adata’s XPG SX6000 Pro .

Samsung's 970 EVO Plus grows to 2TB but is it enough to overtake the rush of low-cost Phison and Silicon Motion SSDs?

installed 3 2tb samsung evo plus in raid0 in my msi gt76 titan dt-039 4k notebooks as 6tb system drive. i love having one large 6tb nvme ssd in raid0 as my system drive. using msi gt76 titan notebooks intel rapid storage software set the 3 2tb samsung evo plus in raid0 array.

I was upgrading from a SATA hard drive also I am using Intel Optane memory in my NVME slot. Since I needed more storage I decided to ditch the Optane and replace it with this drive. the old sata will be used as additional file storage. There is a couple of things you need to be aware of.

It's probably overkill for me. The great majority of things I do are word processing and web surfing. It's great for that. The most disk intensive thing I do is running Win 10 in a virtual machine. This drive has greatly improved the performance of that.

I have a 2015 or 2016 Alienware15 r2. It came with hdd. I bought this one to make it start fast. It takes 1 second to start now and works totally fine with my laptop. The userbenchmark says it is the 6th best m2 ssd. As it is my first m2, I did not compare it with our ssd.

24 January 2021

Easy to install, checked the compatibility and it worked instantly. Even comes with it's own monitoring software.

Upgraded my MSI GT76 Titan DT-039 notebooks 3 PCIe 3.0 slots w/ 3x 2TB Samsung EVO PLUS NVME M.2 SSD's in RAID0 to have a 5.588 TB system drive. Unfortunately, the notebooks BIOS uses Intel Rapid Storage Technology to set up RAID array so the performance merely matches the performance specs of a...
