As an industrial photographer, this system really pays off in the combined tilt and shift effect in creating painless panoramas in challenging conditions. Imagine taking a tack-sharp image of a two-foot long microcircuit board so tight you can't even look through the viewfinder.

I have used the Canon TS lenses for years.Recently my 24mm lens developed a problem with the filter thread and was difficult to thread filters I use particularly neutral gray for longer exposures. I had read multiple reviews of the Rokinon 24mmTS lens ,some of then rather negative.

At a third of the price of its Canon counterpart, I was expecting some sacrifices. The knobs are small and do not feel substantial. I suspect theyll be the first things to break in this lens.Theres some heavy vignetting at the full shift when shooting wide open.

The knobs are not easy to work but I got used to it. The aperture ring is also not ideal. Facing sideways, hard to see the scale. Low distortion, especially in crop mode. I use it on a Pentax K1 though and it shows a little distortion, easy to fix.

This lens does the job when you need a tilt-shift lens, but the optics aren't very sharp. I am always disappointed with the sharpness of my images when I shoot with this lens and wish I had spent the extra money and purchased the Nikon version. Next time.

I prefer to compose and shoot as near to the final image as possible, in camera, rather than relying on the variables of software fixes. Fixes that can produce different from expected results.
