A fisheye is really a specialty lens that most of us dont use that often. This one works well at a budget price... but who wants to pay a fortune for a lens you use once in a blue moon. Good image quality. Focus a bit hard to figure out since the depth of field almost obviates it.
I love this fisheye. Placed on a Canon crop sensor camera you get magnification of 1.6x. Instead of 8mm, it becomes a 12.8 mm and this helps you not get the oval fisheye problem that you would see in a full size sensor.
Sometimes you're just looking for a fun experience with your camera. One way is to put this lens on your DSLR body and start taking images. This lens is really useful when you just can't back far enough to capture the scene with a standard wide angle lens and you don't want to stitch a number of...
Really enjoy this wide angle lens. My camera is 80D so I get about 13mm focal length with very little distortion. Took it to my trip on Highway 1 and I loved it.
I've used it only once but I think I am going to enjoy this lens. I like the wide fisheye effect and think it will be a fun lens. Seems very sharp but will take a little getting use to the manual focus and aperture ring. I have wanted a fisheye for years and this one finally fit the budget.
This is a great lens for the price. Do not get the first version with fixed lens hood. This one is detachable, mainly for storage. You still can't put a filter on it. This thing has some new glass in it and is very sharp.
Enormous field of a view.High resolution in the centre at wide open, or all the way to the edges if stopped down to f8. Very good contrast and colours.Visible chromatic aberration in high contrast areas when wide open. Relatively light weight. Aperture control works perfect from the camera (K 5iis).
I used this lens on a nikon d5200 and Ill never go back to stock! This lens is gorgeous and great for low light! the only problems i had was that and picture (night or day) would come out blurry at F3.5......
This is what I call a fun lens. I got the Canon version, which is totally manual. This is really not an issue. Once you get the hand of it, it's very easy to use and the pictures look great! On the Canon it covers a field of vision of around 167 degrees. You can get a whole room on one shot.
Great price, great photos! If wanting to be a wedding photographer, you may want a little more high quality lens, but this lens is perfect for the price.
