Soft at T-1.5 but stellar above T-2.5. Price has little to do with the value of this lens- I'm using a set of non-DS Rokinon's for video while my Canon L series glass stays home. I've even gotten back into using manual focus for stills with the Rokinon's.
This lens saved the day for me at a recent shoot at Yosemite. Not that my other lens couldn't do the job, but it had frosted over. When I removed it and put on this faster lens and shot with it, it turned out beautiful with a nice moon star. See print below.
Excellent entry level cine lens. Not as sharp as I was expecting on my Canon t3i, but it may just be I need to find its "sweet spot." I highly recommend.
This lens is awesome for the cinematic look. Very clear image. Use this lens with my A7S and it looks amazing. Total pro look and great for big shots or close ups with no distortion. Great feel to it also. I couldn't recommend this more.
Some people have bad copies, but I got a great one. I have the rokinon canon cine 16mm, 24mm, 35mm, and 85mm. The 24mm was just as sharp as the 16mm, and not far behind the 85mm. I did go through two bad copies of the 35mm and 85mm before I found an acceptable one.
I like it very much, but it hasn't the best quality for video on a 7D.
We love all of our Rokinon lenses but this one... We have the 85mm, 50mm, 35mm, 24mm and 16mm. From the day we purchased the 24mm lens it just wasn't right. The focus was ridiculously sloppy and loose making it difficult to pull correct focus.
Great lens! A+++ Well made lens, definitely recommend for a wide angle.
