this lens is extremely sharp! ...or maybe it's my D850 ! Just set the lens to F22 and you have focus confirmation and exposure functions.Balances nicely on a full size DSLR. Deal of the century. Get this prime..you won't regret it.
One of the best purchases I've made in lenses, especially for the money. This lens is well-made and crystal clear. I LOVE shooting with it. People complain about it being manual focus, but, if you can't use ANY of your lenses in manual focus mode, then you're really missing out on one of the great...
When you want to capture the night sky you need a wide angle, wide aperture lens and this lens does the trick. Don’t let its lack of auto focus deter you, most camera systems would have difficulty autofocusing at night and you’re likely to manually focus anyway.
This lens was amazing. If you are a reasonably competent photographer in manual, you can do great work with this lens. For the price it simply should be in your bag.
Amazing for indoor
I purchased this lens primarily for astrophotography and landscape photography after reading positive reviews for the lens in those applications. After using it on a couple weekend shoots I feel it is the only way to get into an ultra wide angle lens under $500.
Was shooting at 3 a.m using the moonlight and got some phenomenal pictures with this lens. Definitely reccomend it for budget landscape photographers
So far i like it - have only used it once to catch the colorful sky. Can't wait to try it for astrophotography. Will update after our trip.
I purchased a Nikon mount and was shipped a Sony mount. It did not work for my camera (Nikon D7200).
I guess I was one of the unlucky ones that received a bad copy. Tried do astrophotography, but the corner coma was horrible. Took some landscape shots with it, but the corners were way too soft and things just never looked to be in sharp focus. Going to save my money for a good 14mm lens.
