If you are looking for a value-priced fast telephoto lens, the Samyang 135mm f/2 ED UMC Lens is a good option to consider. At review time, it is the only value priced 135mm f/2 lens available. For a low price, this lens can deliver excellent image quality and imagery that garners attention.

This manual focus telephoto lens offers a fast f/2 maximum aperture for a price of around £380, which seems very good value for a 135mm lens with an f/2 maximum aperture.

Verdict: This lens provides very sharp, manual focus optics. It’s lightweight but feels well-made and durable. It did create very slight vignetting but it’s a great lens for the price.

Samyang has been making waves with its latest line of AF lenses, but is primarily known for its range of incredibly sharp, manual focus optics. At 135mm, this lens is firmly in portrait territory, and its wide f/2 aperture returns seriously smooth out-of-focus areas, or bokeh, ideal for creating...

Those interested in a fast 135mm, who are either on a budget or don’t need autofocus for their work, should certainly consider this lens. It’s more than capable of delivering sharpness on a par with high-end lenses, but at a fraction of the cost.

This might be the sharpest lens I have used on my A7RII's, shot wide-open, and I have shot all the FE lenses and most of the professional Canon L lenses, as well as a number of Leica lenses, on this camera. The sharpness is stunning! Also amazing is the nearly total lack of LoCA's and CA's.

This is exceptionally good lens for the price . Bought this lens after reading very good reviews for its astro capabilities which it did not disappoint. NO comma at wide open f2.0 which was a big plus.

I sues this both as a general purpose landscape, portrait and for macro subjects. Even though it is not a purpose-built macro, it is fantastically sharp. Images are contrasty and sharpness carries all the way to the corners when stopped down a little. The focusing ring has the ideal touch and feel.

Wish I could get more one with autofocus. Great lens. Must buy for portraits. Doesn't have that soft look when shot wide open like the nikons I have

This lens is heavy and is manual focus, but it's sharpness is unbelievable! The colors are not the best. When images from this 135mm lens are compared to those produced by most quality Pentax lenses, I'd say the colors from this Samyang lens look slightly duller.

Recieved new Samyang 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC lens for my Nikon D600 yesterday.Images I took were very sharp And Clear.I compared it to my Sigma 150mm 2.8 Micro lens .I found the Sigma performed on my camera sharper and I perfer it more.I have a problem mounting the Sigma on the D600 and also my D7200.Was...

Inexpensive, well built, but heavy! The weight is a bit daunting on a small APS-C Pentax, but it works. I'm not used to a manual focus lens, but found with live view, image magnification and focus peaking it wasn't too hard to get it right.

This review is based on two weeks of use and about 650 exposures. Being my second Samyang manual lens my usage technique was already established based on the Samyang 85mm F1.4. This 135mm lens like the 85mm is all manual, no EXIF data (including distance, F stop and focal length) is transmitted to...

I purchased this lens to take pictures of objects in the night sky that occupy larger areas than my 80mm refractor can see. It is very sharp and the f/2 ratio is great for large dim objects. If the target is brighter, then stopping the lens down to f/4 produces spectacularly sharp pinpoint stars.

I'd read plenty of glowing reviews, but I was still amazed when I put my first shots up on my 30" monitor. Uncanny sharpness wide open, great color, and smooth bokah, dissolving into misty distance. The subject really pops.
