This is a great entry level shotgun mic. The sound I've gotten out of it has blown me away and definitely taken my video productions to the next level in terms of sound quality. The rejection and directionality of this mic do not dissapoint and I love that you can power it with a double A battery...

Very pleased with the performance of this mic, it has excellent focus to pickup centered sound and cuts the side noise very well. I use it for voice and place it about 12 - 18 inches from the talent, at about a 45 degree, pointing down to below the chin.

Used this mic for a short film, possibly the best mic I've used in ages. I can only imagine the newer versions better, but this is just amazing. Get one!

This is my first Rode mic (aside from the videomic) and I'm really happy with it so far. I'm using it in conjunction with the Tascam DR-40 for low-budget feature films. I have no complaints so far! Clear audio, low impedance. I'll be stepping up to NTG3 soon, but this is a great mic for the money.

Lovely product. Mic quality is superb. Do not buy it if you're planning to use it with a Zoom H4N. Apparently they don't work well together. Anything else should be fine.
