I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments. The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections. Versatile and great sound quality.
I use the set up for voice over work in film. I am a baritone/bass non singer and usually don't the the high end on things. That said, the richness and texture of the sound that I am getting from this even after on ly playing for a week is sublime.
I love this microphone for all it does. It picks up very subtle detail and has been my favorite purchase for my at home recording studio. It has several options you can choose with a simple click on the body of the microphone (variable polar pattern, variable high pass, etc).
Great vocal mic for studio / music applications. Performance is on par with several much more expensive mic's I've used.
Its been a long time coming but finally upgraded from a AKG P220.. An amazing sound quality that doesnt break the bank. Love that i have more pattern choices.. a noticeable difference when i a and b both mics. Great purchase. - Srikalogy
An excellent all-rounder!
Best Mic on the market for music and podcasts
This Rode NT2-A microphone was a replacement for another one which had a bad finish (dangerous sharp edges and scratch inside and outside). The new one replacement didn't fixed the issue and it did confirmed my suspect that Rode have an issue, firstly with their factory production and secondly with...
lovely mic but make sure you've got a decent mic stand as this is pretty heavy, esp if you're on a boom recording acoustic guitars
Very clear and detailed sound, With low self noise. Haven’t had chance to put it through it’s paces as anything other than a vocal mic so far, but very pleased with the results so far. A great addition to any studio.
