I really appreciate the sound quality of this receiver, and it's simplicity. I have a 5.1 speaker system and have no intentions of upgrading to a more "advanced" layout, so I didn't want to spend the money for a 7.1 receiver. This receiver does the job.

Excellent picture and sound, all features work but did need the firmware upgrade installing to get Dolby Atmos. Unlike a previous (slimline) Pioneer AV Receiver I had to return, this one has had no problems (so far) with the audio return channel or hdmi pass through functionality.

A nice piece of kit.Basic setup instructions included are indeed basic. Go to pioneer eu website and download support for a comprehensive help pdf file of 79 pages. First firmware update after you connect it to the internet will add a few new features including Dolby Atmos.

High standards for perfect sound quality with all options and up-to-date technology needed to enjoy movies music , however it needs high performance speaker to bring out the beast

Purchased to update my aging amp. It works great with my existing speakers and the audio setup is great. The only down side is for the time its been on the market still no firmware update for Dolby Atmos.

Great hardware quality, but the software leaves a little to be desired in regards to UI and speed of network features. I ended up with the Sony STR-DN1080 which is much quicker, but unfortunately, not as well built (which I can live with).

Had to return this item as it wouldn't allow full set-up of 5.1 surround speaker system - picture froze on the screen where I had to use the supplied microphone to determine the position and distance of all speakers.

A couple of things about this unit. You have to use the remote for almost everything. Maybe I'm old school but I like just pushing a button to switch over to Cd/ tuner or for tuner pre-sets. Another negative, at least for my, is that it needs to be hooked up to a TV to program the internet.

An update to this after a few weeks. I am delighted with the sound on this, however I am having an issue with 4 k gaming. When I try to play any 4k enabled xbox one games on it, (Gears for war 4, or battlefield one) while my Samsung tv is set to 4k on the settings, the receiver just clicks and...

Simply 4K HDR receiver. I just needed something cheap and simple to get signal from Apple TV to TV + support my 5.1 Audio System.
