This is the third of the Pentax Limited hand assembled lenses that are designed for film. Pentax have always offered some odd focal lengths and this 77mm equates to a 35mm-equivalent of 115.5mm when used on an APS-C format DSLR.

I've had this lens for about a year now, using on my K-1, and it's now my favorite lens for Pentax, bar none. I've also got the 77 ltd, 100m macro, and 70 - 200 D-FA*. This beats them all (though all are excellent).

Even average phitographers can produce stunning portraits. Pay no attention to technical reviews and just go out to flickr and look at images. Skin has a palpable depth and lustre. Focus transition to out of focus at portrait distances is smooth.

It is a great lens made by Pentax, but I think it is too heavy and big, compared with my pancake lenses.

This is one impressive lens. First off, the build quality tells you it's meant to be around for a long time. All metal construction feels like the old days (one craveat: polycarbonate is more thermally stable than metal, but polycarbonate doesn't give that "jewel like" feel, so metal it is).

Sharper wide open than most lenses, which counts for a lot in a portrait lens. Getting the leading eye in focus doesn't mean the rest of the image is soft, just not as well focused! Exactly the effect we want., Small and light, and amazingly well built.

This lens is the reason to own a pentax. Absolutely worth the cost.

Absolutely incredible lens on a cropped or full-frame body. Lovely brokah. If you shoot portraits or moving kids you'll love it.

This lens took my breath away. The first image was just that good. Outstanding and much more than expected.

A recognized "master" lens

What a fantastic lens to have! I now have three favorite Pentax lenses that cover just about every situation. The Pentax 50mm f1.4 lens for most of my theatrical photography. the Pentax 21mm f3.2 Limited for vacation and travel photography, and this one for portraits and mild telephoto needs.

Great (and remarkably compact) lens for portraiture, I've been experimenting already and like the framing it allows.
