This standard 50mm lens sports a fast f/1.8 maximum aperture, ideal for blurring backgrounds, or for shooting in low light conditions. However, unlike many 'nifty-fifty' lenses, this optic carries a rather high £250 price tag. Is it worth the extra over equivalents from other manufacturers?
Honestly, the 50mm lens is a must for a photographer and at a price around $100, this lens is a spectacular deal. It's crisp, sharp, clear, and inexpensive. The autofocus is a little slow and the housing of the lens is less then professional, but for a lens that is only $[$], it's definitely worth...

Great little lens. It's very light, fast, and sharp (when stopped down a tiny bit). Got this for everyday photography, but 50mm is a bit to narrow of a focal point although excellent for portraits. So, 35mm is on the wish list. The AF is also a bit on the loud side.

It matches well with my Pentax K-01. It's size is right and the image is pleasing with good balance of sharpness and colour saturation. However, its a bit noisy during focusing.
