With an out-of-town shoot scheduled, I needed to find a quick replacement for a full-frame, wide angle lens to pair with my K-1. I was hesitant to purchase the 24-70 f/2.8 after reading mixed reviews, but I decided to take a chance and it was well worth it!
I found this lens sharp from edge to edge.Great weather sealing.
I own 45 or 50 lenses, most of them Pentax, this is the cream of the crop. It focuses so fast and quietly that the first few times I wasnt sure anything had happened. Photos that I have looked at at 100% are amazingly sharp. The build quality is just as good as the photo quality.
I purchased the Pentax-D FA 24-70mm f/2.8 lens to replace the 16-50mm Digital lens I had been using with my Pentax K-20 camera. The 16-50mm not being suitable to take advantage of the Full Frame sensor in my recently purchased Pentax K-1 camera, I had been searching for the right lens to carry, when...
This is an update to my initial impressions. I had some issues with some purple fringing but found out this was due to my using two filters at once on this lens. Took one off and all issues disappeared. This is the first lens you should attach to your K1. It is the most versatile for general use.
well I do like it very much, it's nice, I little heavy with the camera but it feels just right in my hands, really aggressive looking on camera, fast and silence
The focal length range of this PENTAX zoom lens is perfect for about 99% of the pictures most people take every day. So if your in a quandary about which lens to chose with your new or existing Pentax camera give this lens a close look.
Smaller than I anticipated for a 24-70 f/2.8; takes great photos with fast focusing. Not a lot to complain about. Used it in a rainforest with active rain for ~4h without any worries about moisture.
I purchased this FF lens prior to getting a K1. I used it with my K3 body and had no issues whatsoever. Compared to my DA* 16-50 lens, the results were very similar but sometimes it seemed that the DA* was superior. The colour seemed to be more to my liking with the DA*.
Giving 3 stars for this lens is extremely generous on my part. I have now purchased and returned 4 of these lenses. LENS #1: 24mm soft borders, 35mm extremely soft. Shooting f5 was unacceptable, had to stop down to f8-f13 and NOT view images large enough to be displayed in Full Frame native...
