Superb walk around lens. I use it on a Pentax K1 and edge to edge sharpness at various focal lengths is good to excellent, although not quite in the class of prime lenses. Highly recommended, especially for travel photography.
Haven't used it much, but looking forward to some great shots of race cars at night!
Using this with Pentax K-1. There is plenty of reviews around of this lense, check them. My personal opinion: This is the best all-around and walk-around zoom choice for K-1 at this price. It is sharp "enough" from open to f16. The IQ is very good, the lens focuses fast, accurately and silently.
Excellent build quality and image quality when used with the K1 full frame.
This lens has absolutely changed the quality of images I was getting with my K-3. Because the lens is made for the full frame K-1 it is heavy and large compared to many of the lenses I have specifically for the smaller sensor. The image and build quality far exceed the negative of the weight.
Every K-1 owner should consider this lens: light-weight, nice build quality with smooth zoom action, weather-sealed, sharp throughout the zoom range, and relatively inexpensive. Downsides include strong vignetting, and typical levels of distortion from a zoom with this much range.
This lens has far out performed my expectations, it's a beast. I have even done low light/astrophotography with this lense. It's really not bad at all.
I got this lens to go with a new K-1 body and it has not disappointed! It is weather sealed and I would highly recommend as a first lens on a full frame camera like the K-1. I've used Pentax manual lenses since the 70's and this lens performs even better than those, at least in terms of color and...
I was pleasantly surprised by the FA 28-105mm. To my mind it out performs the tests of it that I've sen. I print my files and they are technically as good as anything I've ever done.
Amazing sharpness and color.
