The three aforementioned lenses constitute the spearhead of Pentax's full frame lenses lineup, for the moment at least. Considering that full frame appeals to enthusiasts and professionals, a group of fast zooms is mandatory.

Large and heavy, No filter thread, Occasional ghosting, Strong vignetting (can be corrected in-camera or via software), Strong distortion at 15mm not fully corrected in-camera
The introduction of the new Pentax K-1 full frame camera body means that the range of lenses available had a few gaps that needed filling. As a result, a number of new 35mm-format optics have arrived, including this imposing 15-30mm.
The Pentax D FA 15-30mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR is quite simply a beautiful, sweet lens to use. It is heavy and bulky and not inexpensive, but it delivers a very high standard of performance and maintains that standard equally well at all apertures and focal lengths.
very sharp lens. The zooming and focusing rings work with just the right amount of pressure. The 2.8 aperature works well for night sky photos. The autofocus is quick and quiet. The only drawbacks are the hefty weight and no filter threads to attach filters.
This lens was as expensive as my Pentax camera. Very big and heavy. This is not a lens to use everyday. Excellent picture quality. A superior lens.
Upgraded from APS-C to FF and left my 10-17mm fisheye behind .. .this isn't quite as wide but more than makes up for it in all other areas. It's a true wide angle that allows you to get up close and personal with your subject whilst maintaining contact with the rest of the scene.
way bigger than expected, not complaining though. when I pulled it out of the box I knew right away I had a nice lens. Beautiful tight build. nothing moves that isn't suppose to. smooth focus ring. took it for my first shoot lastnight. very good lens for night time urban shooting.
The Pentax FA 15-30mm f/2.8 wide-angle zoom lens is nothing short of outstanding. It is exceptionally sharp and the constant f/2.8 aperture allows it to function amazingly well in low light situations like the 'blue hour' periods immediately before sunrise and after sunset.
One of my favorite Pentax FF lenses. Great for a landscape type walk around lens. The weather resistance and image quality was what sold me with this rather than having gone with the cheaper options. I don't see this leaving my K1 very often as it is a very versatile lens.
With Pentax producing an excellent full-frame body the K1 the 15 - 30 becomes a very useful lens to work with. Well-made and with a lot of elements (18 in total) in 13-groups using some lens design (three aspherical optical elements) and material (extra-low dispersion glass) to make the lens work...
It's a big heavy hunk of glass but it performs very well. Only taken it out on one "real" shoot and it performed very nicely on my K-1. Low CA, low distortion for how wide it is, quick accurate and quiet AF!
I like wide angle portrait shots. So this is my favorite lens and I use it on first priority. It privides a clear view so I enjoy using it. It doesnt have much distortion as well. I use it almost for a year now and Im happy overall. I strongly recommend this lens.
Even though the lens is on the heavy side. I have found that is tack sharp on photo even when I had hold it. I am very happy with this lens
