Personal drones are nearly ubiquitous now , and the Parrot AR was among the first to resonate with consumers. The quadcopter made its debut at CES in 2010, and made flying dead-simple. Anyone could fly it easily, no experience required, using a smartphone app.

A fun drone you can fly using just your phone. Small form factor and lightweight design makes it easy to carry. Software controller cuts down on bulk. Flight times have been improved over its predecessor, a welcome development.

Software controller is difficult to use. Wi-Fi drops consistently. Storage maxes out at a paltry 8GB. The $400 SkyController, while nice, ruins the light-and-simple thing.

The Parrot Bebop 2 definitely improves on the original and remains a good choice for its portability and safer design, but stiffer competition and merely good image quality limit its overall appeal.

The Parrot Bebop Drone 2 is small enough to stick in your average backpack, but sturdier than the original with about twice the battery life. Its propellers stop the instant they're obstructed, easy barrel rolls and flips and new banked turns capability makes it more fun to fly, and it's stable...

It's pricey when bundled with the massive Skycontroller remote control, and its video quality hasn't improved much from the first-gen Bebop. In-app purchases are required for features other drone makers include. Its control range is dependent on your mobile device and flight conditions.

“The Parrot Bebop 2 gets new toys to make it fly better.”

Easy to fly, Fast, Great value, Good video for price
-
-
No 4K video, Not as portable as the Mavic Pro

Excellent battery life, Phone/tablet controls are easy to learn, Easily replaceable parts, Strong video quality
-
-
Touch-screen controls lack sensitivity, Camera is prone to lens flares

On its own the Parrot Bebop 2 is a likeable smartphone-controlled drone that captures good-quality stills and video, but it's the addition of the FPV kit which really makes it stand out, offering a better control experience and an amazing perspective on the world from above.
-
+
Great battery life, Stable flight performance, FPV accessories work well
-
-
Video is glitchy at long distances, Fisheye camera suffers from lens flare, Autonomous functions cost extra

Not long after its release, the opportunity came up to play with… errr, “review’ the Bebop 2 Drone by Parrot. So… it’s not directly “An...
I've had mine about 4 months now and love it. Lots of things to like about the Bebop 2. Easy to learn and use, and a super intro crossing over from a neat toy to a usable flying camera... excellent design and construction overall at a manageable price point.
Works great right out of the box. And as all things in the world today, the more you check online the more you learn. And for us the Bebop is perfect ! You really have to love the "Net" and how much is there to glean , balancing battery charging and increasing WIFI signals and the Bebop2 is right...
That's a good case for the BEBOP 2. Unfortunately, there is not enough space for the Skycontroller 2.
Space for the drone and all the basic accessories. Durable and safe.
Battery stopped working after 5 flights. Even though it is charged and the charger showing green when I connect to the drone it says 20% and that drops to %5 really quick like in minutes.
Bought this drone specifically for its home button, so the drone should come back to the point it took off from yet mine didn't it just took off never to return. The charger was also faulty and when trying to make a claim the company won't take responsibility for its faults.
More than I expected! As easy as can be to start and when you change those settings to max sport, it goes wild!
I bought this drone and it was amazing and it still is. The only thing is i haven't done a true range test but i got to about 500m before it disconnected.
Just starting out with drones. Love it. Hasn't missed a beat. Easy to use.
On second flight, drone went straight up and then took off straight away. Pressed button for it to come back and land immediately and it did nothing, kept going. Parrot took no responsibility. Piece of rubbish drone.
