I brought this lens with me to the Galapagos. It was able to withstand the sea spray and one drop (albeit in a padded backpack). At first, I was a bit apprehensive about being able to take wider angle shots but I discovered I could use my G85's panorama mode to assist in wider angle shots.

This lens is a great performer in all conditions. While it may not be as fast as a quality prime lens, the focal range it offers is amazing! Great image quality and very solid stabilization. Even zoomed all the way in, handheld video is very good and quite usable.

Im an amateur, so I havent used it as broadly as might a pro. I bought the lens primarily to use when taking multi row panorama frames using an RSS gimbal. The focal length range is perfect for that use. Initial impressions are positive, it focuses sharply and renders colors well.

Love the form factor of this and the fact that the lens doesn’t change its physical length when zooming. The one and only issue I have with this and every other Panasonic lens I have is the focus breathing. For photography this is not a problem but for video it is a huge concern when pulling focus.

I bought this for our GH5 kit and have been using it for Dual IS long shots. The Dual IS is pretty amazing for handheld. It gets a little laggy when panning, but for those closeup shots when you don't have a tripod available, the camera / lens combo works great.

As David Thorpe is fond of saying "You get what you pay for with this lens". Yes, this bad boy is pricey but it's worth every penny. Just take a look at the sharpness demonstrated in the attached photo. of a WWII plane and the reflection caught in its propeller nose. Nuff Said!

I used this lens for 1 full month on Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II, so users on Panasonic body will have slightly different experience. In general I think its a good lens. However, I sold it after one month to get Olympus 12-100 that replaced 12-40 and 35-100 2.8.

Please don't get me wrong, this lens is fabulous. It provides you what you want in a decent well rounded lens. Having continuous aperture f1:2.8 provides decent light without having to degrade the picture with high ISO.

For the price it's a very good lens that's sharp and reliable. We use it for television documentary style shooting with the Lumix Gh4. We're very pleased.

This is my first "70-200" zoom, as I have had almost exclusively primes till now. The lens is sharp and focuses fast with a Panasonic G9. Coming from Canon gear, I love the small and lightweight aspect of this lens.
