Great all-rounder

Nothing really
This 14-45mm lens from Panasonic covers an angle of view equivalent to a 28-90mm lens on a 35mm camera. Focusing is performed internally, it comes equipped with an Optical Image Stabilisation system and it costs around £230.
Overall this lens puts in an excellent all-round performance producing sharp, contrasty images. Priced at £230, it is pretty good value as well. Many look to this lens as a better quality alternative to the current 14-42mm lens and although it does turn in better sharpness across the frame, and...
Bought this to use on my Micro for general purpose stuff. Even with the BMMCCs big crop factor, I can still frame a good waist-up green screen shot in tight quarters, and while its not a hefty zoom, for day-to-day stuff, it zooms in pretty tightly.
I tested with Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. The OIS worked well because it has the switch on the camera for compatibility. The issues were some slight distortion on edges. The lens isn't fast and it's not constant aperture so on the Telephoto end it's only f5.6 which is slow.
I have been using this lens on my black magic pocket camera for travel. For it's price it is brilliant. It's range of zoom makes it quite versatile and the OIS does a good job of removing small shakes during hand held recording.
I have a number of Olympus and Panasonic prime lenses, yet this is the lens I use the most. While the 14-42 kit lens that came on my G5 is stiff and hard to zoom, this lens is smooth zooming and a lot sharper. Since upgrading to a GX7 I am still getting excellent results with this lens.
Wonderful lens, better than the 14-42 kit lens that comes with the Panny GX1. I use this lens, the 45-175 zoom and 25mm prime as my main arsenal. The only lens I have used that is better in this range is the 12-35mm gx vario f2.8, but 20% of the price, this lens performs very well!
