I bought this lens to use as a "travel zoom" for my Olympus PEN-F, and to be honest it was a bit of a pleasant surprise performing better than expected. I normally use Olympus primes and have also used the exceptional Olympus 12-40/2.8 so the bar was high, but while it would be unfair to compare it...
Announced at the CP+ show in February, Panasonic's Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 Asph. POWER O.I.S. lens is a cut above the standard kit lens. Covering a wider angle of view and with a slightly longer telephoto extension, it is equivalent to a 24-120mm lens on a 35mm camera.
The LUMIX G VARIO 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. standard zoom offers a versatile focal range of 24-120mm in a relatively small package, backed-up by very good image quality throughout the focal range and impressively fast and quiet autofocusing.
I love this lens, it has become a daily driver for me. I am not a professional. I just like having good photos around and then lens is very versatile.
Great lens for the GX85. Performs as well as the 12-32 kit with a little more reach. Roughly the same size as the 40-150 lens. Good walking around lens.
good and sharp lens.
Panasonic has finally made a premium, stabilized travel lens. It is a 12-60mm (24-120mm equivalent in 35mm / APS-C). There seems to be very minimal vignetting at 12mm, but it seems that this is the best Panasonic-made 12mm focal length I can get on my budget.
I bought this lens to replace the 14-140mm v2 since I had issues with micro-jitter shooting video with my GH4. This lens is very similar to the 14-140mm but doesn't have the video issues and Power OIS is great! Not only is this lens great for video but it's a pretty good lens for stills.
Fine lens. Works very well.
I will preface this review by saying I already have Panasonic's two f/2.8 Pro lenses (12-35 and 35-100), as well as an assortment of other prime and ultra-wide and long zoom lenses. So why did I pursue their new 12-60? Primarily because of its versatility.
Truthfully, I was a little frustrated when I bought the camera GX8 and came this lens included, I just wanted the body and had in mind another lens, but by making several photos I was amazed at how fast it is in focus and the great zoom has, I personally worked well for me day and night with good...
I was leery about buying this lens because of some bad reviews but I am glad I did buy it--nice shots with it and for me it is the perfect zoom for what I use it for-- I use it on my Panasonic GX85 and for me it is the perfect combo
I purchased this lens soon after its release and have been extremely pleased with it. I use it on my Panasonic Lumix GX7 and have had it "glued" to the camera since it arrived in my mailbox a few weeks ago.
