I was skeptical that a small sensor could handle 20 megs. It does so very well with adequate light. It is the best shirt pocket sized camera I know of with an enormous zoom range. I also have the ZS100 which is more effective in low light given its 1 inch sensor, and has a very useful 25-250 mm zoom...
Stay away from this Camera. I purchased it less then 3 months ago and it has multiple failures already, it's back for warranty right now. The zoom sticks at times and it will zoom all the way in or out on it's own, really annoying, I've had to take pictures several times just to get one correct.
If you are seriously into pixel peeping and expect to see every blade of grass in fine detail in every picture (assuming there is some grass in it) then this is not a camera for you.
Fantastic compact camera ... meats all my requirements
I consider myself a Canon person when it comes to cameras. I was really excited about and ready to press "buy" on the Canon sx730 in July due to the articulating lcd screen (finally!
I am more than an amateur, but I don't make a living with my photography. This is the first "small" camera I have owned. And the first non Nikon camera I have owned (unless you count homemade pinhole cameras or the Pentax K1000 from photography/art school).
The camera should come with a shoulder holder, because is too heavy for the one they add in the package.
I usually drop my phone and other thin devices. I bought to avoid the issue manuevrability issue I experience with my camera phone. The thickness really helps out and is as close as it can get to being like a Canon 80D, better control. It also helps that it came with a wrist strap.
I love, love, love this camera! It has everything I need in one compact size. Couldn't ask for more! Best value for my money. Highly recommended!
So far so good. Love the 4k Series Video looks good have not done sound test yet. Can't open the raw files because I have CS5 ugh not willing to pay for cloud. Biggest down side is location of power button.
