It's not just another "tiny sensor" camera. I've written a more comprehensive review on my blog but I'll just sum up my findings here. Image quality wise.... This is a very highly capable camera, and one that can make very pleasing images if you shoot raw and put a little care into exposure and...
I have a bigger Panasonic camera and took it to Alaska and it was took bulky for me to carry. This camera is perfect. So easy to carry but what's better...it takes just as great pictures as my DSLR camera. I am so happy with this camera, the zoom is amazing and the closeups I get are outstanding.
In preparation for our honeymoon I was looking for a portable camera that I could easily take with me and rely upon for most scenes. In the past I had purchased the Panasonic DMC-SZ7 and was delighted with the results.
I was looking for a quality camera to complement my heavy Canon EOS 7 with telephoto. This filled the bill nicely by providing quality photos with a relatively light weight. The camera is pretty much automatic. A full manual mode would be nice. The 4K functions are great.
I am a amateur nature/landscape photographer and I have to say this camera is made for my skill level. The viewfinder is tiny but effective and I love that it has a horizon line leveling option so I can make sure my photos are not tilted.
I love the powerful zoom and portability of this camera. There are a lot of features, not all of which are intuitive, and thus a steep learning curve. This camera takes some great photos if used properly, though that takes a lot of practice and experimentation.
I bought this camera when my the retractable lens on beloved Canon G12 stuck. I was on vacation and wasn't able to have the Canon repaired immediately. I like the Panasonic a lot. It has tremendous capabilities given its compact size and relatively small sensor.
Long Term Use of the Panasonic Lumix ZS70 Travel Zoom by Walter J. Tingle 5/24/2022 Used from June 12th, 2019 to date, or 3 years. The ZS70/TZ90 is a fun, capable camera. Used within its limitations, it is all the camera many people will ever need. It is one large step up from a cell phone.
My last compact was a Lumix TZ60 and I loved it. Sadly, sand got into the lens mechanism and it wouldn't work anymore, I therefore went out and bought the latest model, a TZ90 - this was a couple of years ago.
I still have a great deal to learn about using this camera effectively. However, I was able to learn enough in the few days before my vacation to give me many great photos of an unforgettable landscape.
