4K video is slightly cropped. Omits weather sealing. Shooting rate slows during Raw or AF-C capture. Screen doesn't face forward for selfies. No mic input.
It’s tempting to compare the GX85 with the slightly more sophisticated GX8, which has been on sale for a while. Resolution-wise there’s not much difference between them (16MP vs 20MP), so if you’re looking for an enthusiast-orientated, compact, interchangeable-lens camera with 4K support the GX85 is...
I own the GX85 for little over a month by now. Purchased it from authorize dealer in Houston while looking for something smaller and lighter than my Nikon DSLR.So far I love it. Easy to operate and picture quality is better for what I need (walk around and vacation memories).Got two lenses -12-35...

Pricey / Poor Value
I own a GX-7 and still enjoy shooting with it. Since then I have bought the 12-35mm and 35-100mm f2.8 lenses. The GX-85 adds several performance improvements over previous bodies.
So this tiny (but sturdy) mirrorless camera body with 5-axis stabilization that does 4K UHD at 30fps with a 2 OIS lens package that covers most of the 24mm-300mm range is under $600?? WOWNo brainer for me.
After shooting a couple of thousand photos, I am more than happy with the results. It can compete head to head with my larger, heavier cameras, with no complaints other than its battery life is short, especially if you are using the more power-hungry features.
I use it as a B-Cam paired with my Lumix GH5 and I love it. In body stabilization is crazy good, it's super small and light. Great image quality in 4K and the screen is amazing. The kit lenses are okay, but what I don't like about the 12-32mm is that there is no focus ring.
I bought this as my compact travel camera and the results for both photos and video have been excellent. It's an absolute bargain at the current price with two kit lenses. For my work I shoot with Panasonic GH5 cameras ( mostly video, but some photography too ), but for general purpose photography...
At this price point, there is nothing better.
Quite disapointed with this camera package (even at the discount price).First the good:*Takes nice RAW photos (still like my DSLR better).*Image stabilization works very well with stills, OK for video.*Shoots nice 4K video. The bad:*Kit lenses a hassle (too much swapping).
