Handling and features Covering angles of view equivalent to the popular 70-200mm range on a 35mm camera, this lens boasts a constant fast f/2.8 maximum aperture, internal focusing and zoom, optical stabilisation and a nano surface lens coating to help suppress the effects of flare.
The Panasonic Lumix G X 35-100mm f/2.8 Power OIS is an expensive tele zoom lens but it lives up to its high reputation. From a user perspective, there is little to complain. It is dead sharp in the image center and pretty good in the border region.
With Panasonic and Olympus both releasing Micro Four Thirds system cameras with professional aspirations, it's no surprise that the lenses available should catch up. Panasonic's 35-100mm is a fine lens that is priced reasonably, especially when compared to lenses covering the same angles of view for...
Excellent sharpness, Low distortion, Weather sealed build, Fast focusing, Constant f/2.8 aperture, Effective image stabilisation, Compact size for a telephoto zoom
Sharpness towards the edges of the frame could be better (although perfectly adequate for most purposes)
I moved to M43 a few years ago. Since I mostly do event and real estate work, I didn't have a pressing need for a 70-200 equivalent. I recently had a video assignment that required something longer than my 60mm macro.
I love this lens it, fast and sharp with weatherization and optional lens stabilization. It's heavy for a Panasonic but worth its weight in gold in performance. It's zoom range and functionality is excellent and all you would need if you only buy one lens. I use it with a Pany GX 8.
Excellent quality, both optically and build. Small fraction of the size and weight of the equivalent for a full frame camera. There is no current competative product at this quality, size & weight.
This lens is probably my most used out of my arsenal, it comes in handy in many situations!
Quiet and fast focus, tact sharp.
Love this lens and how smooth the zoom is on it. I also love the range paired with the lens not externally telescoping. You can take some great up-close shots without having to worry about your lens extending to great lengths. The steadiness of this lens, especially for a zoom lens, is phenomenal.
Great build functionality images.Perfect fit on Pen-F. If you don't want or need Mk II features Mk I is a great bargain when on sale to clear inventory. Great Service from BH.
I use this lens with my Gh4 (soon to be Gh5) as one of my cameras for shooting weddings. It comes especially handy in low light situations with the camera at the back of the church in low lighting. The constant f2.8 aperture.
I bought this to use primarily with a gimbal mounted GH4. The footage I am getting is very clean, sharp, and smooth. Prior to this, I was using a 25mm prime which performed well in stationary settings but I had a rough time getting smooth gimbal footage out of it.
Excellent optics. Although this is "older" Power OIS lens, the latest firmware update brings it up to the capabilities of the newest lens. Be sure to update the firmware!
