Good overall performance, ample adjustments, and a low price make Optoma’s HD142X a great entry-level projector.
Great value, Good overall performance, Backlit remote control
Limited installation features, So-so contrast
The Optoma HD142X Home Theater Projector is definitely no ‘run of the mill’ projector as you can tell from its price. However, Optoma is making its initial release quite affordable on Amazon.
The HD142X is not a mold-breaking product, but its 8,000 hour lamp life guarantee, plus bright and accurate Full HD images make it a great value projector for adding a wow factor to the occasional gaming and movie nights.
Contrast and shadow detail, Quiet operation, Long lamp life, Audio output
Basic mono speaker, Rainbow effect, Uninspired design, Rudimentary remote control
It is not exactly "Cinema projector", but it is good enough for Home Theater projector with ±100' screen. It make some noise under best setting. My little girl falls in love with it.
After trying few different projectors! Gave this one try - looked into it a tons, read, watched videos. Finally Purchased it. Let me just say! We are blown away by the picture quality of this projector. Image is crisp and clean. We have been using it over 6 months now and absolutely love it!
I've had this projector for awhile now, and I've treated myself to some great 3D DVD's. I've had Optoma's before and saw no reason to jump ship to another company. Although 3D itself is not as exciting as I had hoped, the performance of this projector has far exceeded expectations.
This is my third protector, and by far the best. The price is extremely reasonable. Go look at 100" hd tv's and get back to me, this is a way better bargain. I actually turned the brightness down. It's like watching an actual LCD tv it's so bright. That is with a ALR screen with gain of 1.3.
Absolutely great projector. I have had mine installed for about two weeks now and do not have a single complaint. Color is great. At 13'6" I achieved a 120" viewing screen (just under for those sticklers that will sit down and do the math). Unit is not too loud although you can here it.
The image quality is excellent. It isn't as bright as I would like, but I couldn't afford the lumen output I would have wanted, so I'm just gonna make some curtains. That's not too say it isn't bright. Most of the time it holds an image well, even with the lights on.
We used this to replace smaller/ portable style projector. Goal was for brighter picture with some daytime/ ambient light and higher picture quality in time for 2016 olympics. It has delivered on both fronts. It is a little bulkier than the minis, but still not too much of an eye soar if left out.
This is an outstanding little projector. A very solid 4 star performer. Of course it’s not as bright and the colors aren’t as good as projectors that cost 3-4 times as much and it doesn’t have 4K. But, if that’s what you’re looking for, spend 3-4 times more money.
I love this projector. I use it mainly for streaming shows or playing video games. My only complaint which isn’t such a big deal is that if you put the projector on a high shelf then you have to tilt the projector forward somehow, because it was only designed to point up, not down when you Project...
This was my first projector and I'm absolutely in love with this thing. Built in speakers are "Okay" but they do get the job done in a small room. Picture is clear with no wash even with my lights on. Set up was easy just take your time.
