Works perfect, great sound.

Complex to set up and configure. Too many menus and options.
This is a very powerful unit for the price. I didn't know anything about this name brand receiver. But have been using it for awhile and am happy with it so far
I purchased this for my dad who just moved into a new house. I have a Pioneer receiver that is 2 years old in the same price range and this receiver blows that one out of the water feature-wise. I guess that is just the progression of technology at work.

HDMI control - compatible TV will control the receiver's volume using the TV or TV remote's volume +/- buttons. On screen display of menus and volume adjustments. Assignable input for each channel (HDMI/Optical/Coax/analog).

Requires a powered sub. I guess that's pretty common for current receivers, but I was not able to re-use my dad's subwoofer from his 5.1 channel DVD player.
By no means is this a beginners receiver. This puppy has more options than any one person will ever use or really should use. I have had this receiver for a little over a year now and it has been great. The sound quality and ability to fine tune your sound is great.

Plays MP3s from my micro SD USB adapter, can navigate MP3 folders on receiver's display panel with remote without a TV hooked up, has a setting for enhanced MP3 playback, Subwoofer output for my Sony 15", tons of connections, sounds great, price.

-
Manual does not explain MP3 folder navigation except for OSD on TV.
When using the hdmi it cuts out sometimes. Also it has overheated on me a couple times. I put a couple small fans on it and it doesn't overheat now

Everything works perfect for my movie/music needs

none
This product was easy to set up and gave us great sound for about six months. But then the surround-sound feature stopped working. Now, only three of the six speaker ports work.

no problems with the HDMI board like other people say, great sound haven't pushed it passed 50 volume tho. Great sound! but a little under-powered compared to Yamaha etc...great for a starter! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

NONE so far!
It will default to the rca/cable inputs after 10 sec. And you will have to switch to desired input every time it is turned on. I hate it
